How Medical Tourism India Provides Cost Effective Treatment For Bariatric Surgery In India?

Medical tourism in India provides Bariatric surgery at a very low cost in comparison to the western countries. Treatment in US & UK = Treatment + Tourism in India, and even then you find it much budget saving treatment than in any other countries. The majority of medical staff in private hospitals in India has been trained in America. This allows visitors to avail the same high standard of care as in the US without the worry of post treatment debt. Facilities within hospitals meet world class expectations. Those traveling from the other part of world will not even have to change currency when crossing the border; the dollar is used throughout India. Bariatric surgery in India is done with the help of most advanced technique available for the treatment.

What is Bariatric surgery?

Bariatric surgery, or weight loss surgery, is a type of procedure performed on people who are dangerously obese, for the purpose of losing weight. This weight loss is usually achieved by reducing the size of the stomach with an implanted medical device (gastric banding) or through removal of a portion of the stomach (sleeve gastrectomy or biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch) or by resecting and re-routing the small intestines to a small stomach pouch (gastric bypass surgery). Bariatric surgery limits the amount of food you can take in. Some operations also restrict the amount of food you can digest. Many people who have the surgery lose weight quickly. Some bariatric procedures are performed using general anesthesia via a midline abdominal incision. Some bariatric surgeons also use laparoscopic surgical techniques, involving smaller instruments connected to cameras through which they view the operational site. The two types of bariatric surgeries are (1) restrictive – like Lap Band®, and (2) combined restrictive and malabsorptive – such as Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.

Many people do not meet the NIH requirements or do not have the insurance benefit for weight loss surgery, but they may still be able to pursue the procedure by paying for it themselves.

Although not cost-saving, bariatric surgery appears to be a good value for the money, the results from a large single-center study showed. The long-term cost-effectiveness of bariatric surgery will largely depend on the natural history and extent of late postsurgical complications and costs.

How Bariatric surgery in India is cost effective:

India offers medical treatments at almost one tenth of US costs, combined with high quality of medical care as well as medical technology. Gestational Diabetes: Treatment with Cinnamon

Approximately 7% of women that carry a pregnancy to term develop Gestational Diabetes during pregnancy. The incidence of Gestational Diabetes doubled from 1992 to 2004.  No one understands why this has occurred except that the incidence of obesity increased tremendously during this same period of time.  Type II diabetes has a incidence of developing between 15 to 60 percent 5 to 15 years after patients have had gestational diabetes.  The three risk factors that indicate who will develop Type II diabetes are 1) BMI >27, 2) developing gestational diabetes before 24 weeks gestation, and 3) the use of insulin or not during pregnancy.

Sugars not controlled during pregnancy can lead to fetal abnormalities, fetal macrosomia (large fetus), hypoglycemia (low blood sugars), hyperbilirubinemia (elevated bilirubin) which can cause damage to the infant’s brain, and pulmonary ( lung) immaturity.  These problems are reduced tremendously when blood sugars are kept under control.

Normally the way sugars are kept under control are diet, exercise, insulin, and glyburide.  There are other alternative treatments that show promise and have minimal side effects:

1) Cinnamon

2) Chromium Piccolinate

3) Bitter Melon

4) Cane Sugar

5) Alpha Lipoic Acid

Today we are going to discuss Cinnamon.  Cinnamon has been shown to decrease glucose significantly in patients.  1 gm, 2 gms, and 6gms of dried Cinnamon has been shown to decrease the fasting glucose by 18 to 30 percent.  It does so by its anti-oxidant effects and increasing the sensitivity of  the insulin receptors located in fat  and muscle cells.  In essence it activates the insulin receptors which allows efficient uptake of glucose into the cells so that it can be stored and metabolized properly.

With Type II diabetes there is an over abundance of insulin floating around and attached to receptors.  For some reason the receptor is not sensitive to the insulin in order to allow sugars to be taken into the cells properly.  This chronic elevated sugar state leads eventually to severe heart, kidney, peripheral nerve, and eye disease.

Dried Cinnamon has no side effects or teratogenic defects on the fetus in the recommended dosages.  When given in extremely high doses in rats, it has been found to cause skeletal and kidney problems including death.

In summary; Cinnamon has been found to decrease fasting glucose significantly dosages ranging from 1 to 6 grams.  With the decrease in the incidence of perinatal and maternal morbidity and mortality due to the significant decrease in maternal sugars, Cinnamon needs further study to determine whether or not it can be used as a first line agent to treat patients with Gestational Diabetes.

High Blood Pressure (Hypertension) Treatment – Reduce your Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is the measure of the pressure against the walls of the arteries. There are two forces that form blood pressure. One of the forces produced when the heart pumps blood into the arteries through the circulatory system. The other force is through the arteries as they resist blood flow. Blood pressure is always given as two numbers, systolic and diastolic. The higher number is systolic pressure, the pressure, while heart contracts to pump blood to the body represents. The lower number is the diastolic pressure, the pressure is when the heart relaxes between beats. What is high blood pressure (hypertension)? High blood pressure or hypertension means high pressure or tension in the arteries. Arteries are vessels that lead to blood from the heart to all tissues and organs of the body. High blood pressure is usually no visible symptoms. There are many people whose blood pressure is high, but she did not notice until it’s too late. For this reason, high blood pressure is also known as the silent killer. High blood pressure damages the blood vessels. This in turn risks heart disease, heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure. So it is very necessary for one to lower blood pressure. Methods to lower the blood pressure Several scientific studies have shown that some of the following form which we could effectively lower blood pressure are: 1st Weight loss if overweight or obese: It is very important to reduce a weight if you are overweight or obese. Weight impact on the burden of the heart that interferes with the pumping of blood through which the pressure increased. 2nd Limiting the intake of sodium: The intake of sodium should be limited or in the limit as sodium increases blood pressure. Sodium intake causes water retention. It is advisable to check the labels of food packages such as potato chips, bread, cheese, etc. before buying. Sodium should not be there in the ingredients list. Limit your intake of sodium to 1500-2400 mg per day. 3rd Increase your intake of potassium, magnesium and calcium: A proper intake of minerals such as potassium, magnesium and calcium helps proper functioning of the heart, by which increased the blood flow and reduces the chances of high blood pressure. 4th Reduce or stop using alcohol: Avoid alcohol as much as possible. If you can not avoid it completely, you have to limit to two drinks per day for men and one drink per day for women. 5th Limit your intake of caffeine: Excessive intake of caffeine creates acidity causes stress on the heart. This stress can increase blood pressure. 6th Regular exercise: Regular exercise not only improves the circulation, but also helps in conservation of weight. It helps the body to operate its normal functions. 7th Increase the consumption of fruits, vegetables and fiber-rich food: increased consumption of fruits, vegetables and high fiber foods, increases the energy for the body needs to carry out activities. 8th Reduce high cholesterol and high fat foods: cholesterol and fats building blocks in the heart, the circulation of the blood reduced from the heart. 9th Stop smoking and stop the intake of tobacco products: cigarettes contained nicotine. Nicotine and tobacco causes blood vessels to constrict and the heart beat faster, which increases your blood pressure. 10th Reduce stress in your life: Reduce the stress in your life as much as possible of relaxation techniques, biofeedback, or simply by avoiding stressful situations and conditions. Reduce blood pressure – Some Treatment Approaches Treatment of patients with hypertension, you should check whether the patient is diabetic or not. Diabetes increases the chances of cardiovascular disease. Sun control blood pressure in diabetes is harder. The targets for the treatment of blood pressure are: - For diabetics: Systolic pressure: less than 140mg Diastolic pressure: less than 85mg In non-diabetic patients: Systolic pressure: less than 130mg Diastolic pressure: less than 80mg Medical methods that are used to treat patients with hypertension: 1st ACE inhibitors stop: ACE inhibitors increase the production of hormone called angiotensin. Angiotensin causes the constriction of blood vessels. ACE inhibitors dilate the blood vessels and improve blood circulation. 2nd Beta blockers: Beta blockers block the action of the hormone adrenaline and help with the conditioning of the nervous system of the body. Because of this, the heart beats slow and relaxed, and thus lowers the blood pressure. 3rd Alpha-blockers: It causes the blood vessels to expand and relax. It is generally a good combination with beta-blockers on the effect on the resistance of the circulation. 4th Calcium channel blockers: It reduces the muscle tension in the arteries, expanding them and creating more room for blood circulation. In addition, relaxes the muscles, heart, lowers blood pressure. 5th Diuretics: It helps to get rid of salts and fluids through excessive kidney. to help relax the blood vessels and reducing the burden on the circulation.

Treatment for Hypertension or High Blood Pressure Causes

Hypertension or high blood pressure (HBP) by means of high pressure (tension) in the arteries. Arteries are vessels that pump blood from the heart to all tissues and organs of the body. High blood pressure does not mean extreme emotional tension, although touching tension and stress can temporarily increase blood pressure. Normal blood pressure is above 120/80, 120/80 and 139/89 is between blood pressure as “pre-hypertension” and a blood pressure of 140/90 or higher is considered high. Hypertension places patients at high risk for end organ damage counting, retina, brain, heart, kidneys, etc. High Blood Pressure Symptoms: High blood pressure regularly causes no symptoms. Even if high blood pressure does basic symptoms, the symptoms are usually mild and nonspecific (vague or suggestive of many different diseases). So, high blood pressure is often called the “silent killer.” People with high blood pressure usually do not know that there have been measured up to their blood pressure. People with high blood pressure can have an average trend, if they develop more sustained or higher are extra layers of blood pressure. They have a slightly increased risk of developing heart-related (heart) disease. Main causes of HypertensionThe cause of essential hypertension is multifactorial, that is, there are several factors whose combined effects produce hypertension. In secondary hypertension, which is for 5% of hypertension accounts, high blood pressure secondary (by) a specific abnormality in one of the institutions or systems of the body. These include: * smoking and obesity Obesity Diabetes * * * physical inactivity Lack of physical activity * High salt intake (sodium sensitivity) * Lack of calcium, potassium, * magnesium and expenditure Vitamin D deficiency * High utilization of alcohol * Stress * AgingLet’s on Hypertension treatment are: The main objective of the treatment of high blood pressure is lower blood pressure below 140/90 – or even lower in some groups such as people with diabetes and people with chronic kidney disease. Treatment of high blood pressure is significant for reducing the risk of stroke, heart attack and heart failure. High blood pressure can be treated medically, by shifting lifestyle factors or a combination of both. Important lifestyle changes include weight reduction, smoking cessation, eating a healthy diet, reducing sodium intake to move regularly and limit alcohol consumption. Effects of yoga on blood pressure: 1 Regular practice of yoga reduces blood pressure are present in the range of 10-15 mm / Hg (observed facts, good evidence to support this observation) 2 Yoga can reduce weight loss, which in turn lowers blood pressure. 3rd Regular yoga performer is less likely to suffer from hypertension than their age and sex matched counterparts. This result was investigated and proved in our center. 4th The night ‘dip’ in blood pressure a phenomenon seen in normal individuals and that can be observed in some hypertensive patients regularly in our center again absent. 5th A casual and Shavasana Omkar singing, each of the BP by about 10-15 mm / Hg in an untrained person who does not practice yoga regularly can reduce.

Cancer Treatment Available Abroad At Affordable Cost?

Cancer Treatment available abroad cancer therapy cancer is one of the most serious diseases that can afflict a person. With over 200 different types of cancer that can occur in the human body, there are many treatment options available. Patients who go abroad for cancer treatment decisions are often more a reflection than most other types of treatments involved. Some of the most common cancer treatments, which can be found in India, include: – Bone Marrow Transplant – Bone marrow is a spongy tissue inside bones found.

The bone marrow in the sternum, skull, hips, ribs and spine contains stem cells to produce the body’s blood cells. Brachytherapy – Brachytherapy is radiation treatment that is given in the body of the patient, as close as possible to the cancer. The radiation is delivered inside the body with radioactive isotopes (chemical elements), inside delivery devices such as wires, seeds, or rods. These devices are called implants. Breast Cancer Treatment: – The term refers to breast cancer, a malignant tumor that has developed from the cells in the breast.

The breast is composed of two types of tissues: glandular tissue and stromal cells together (supporting) tissues. Chemotherapy – Chemotherapy is a general term for treatments, chemical substances (drugs) should be used to kill cancer cells. Many different types of drugs are used, either alone or in combination to treat various cancers. IMRT – intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) is a powerful cancer-fighting technology. Every year deal with Mayo Clinic radiation oncologists, for more than 200 patients with IMRT. Lung Cancer Treatment: lung cancer starts in the cells of the lung. The lungs are in the chest on both sides of the heart.

The right lung has 3components or lobe and the left lung two lobes. Air through the nose and throat and flows past the larynx (voice box) into the windpipe (trachea) inhaled. Prostate Cancer Treatment: – Prostate cancer is the leading cancer in men over the age of 50 years. It is because of the proliferation of abnormal cells, prostate tissue. It is often a slow growing cancer and is located on the first. Later, it can extend, as it spreads to nearby tissues and organs and then metastasizes to other, more distant organs (lymph nodes, bone, lung, etc.) via the bloodstream and lymphatic system.

Radiotherapy: – tumors are made up of cells that reproduce at extremely high prices. Radiotherapy specifically acts quickly against cells that reproduce. Normal cells are programmed to stop reproducing (or dividing) when they come into contact with other cells. Stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy – stereotactic radiosurgery is a highly precise form of radiation therapy to treat primarily for tumors and other abnormalities of the brain.

Despite its name, the stereotactic radiosurgery is a non-surgical procedure that highly focused X-rays used to eliminate treat certain types of tumors, inoperable lesions, and a post-operative treatment of remaining tumor tissue, or abnormal blood vessels in extinguish native arteriovernous malformations. Surgical Oncology Brain Tumor Surgery Gene Therapy Laproscopic Prostate Surgery Medical Oncology Tomotherapy The goal of cancer treatment is to completely remove cancerous tissue from patients without major damage to the rest of the body. Cancer occurs when cancer cells in the body multiply uncontrollably and accumulate in tumorous masses.

Bone Cancer: Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment and Prognosis

Bone cancer is rare and represents less than 1% of all new tumors. Not all bone tumors are fatal in fact benign (not cancerous) abnormalities are more common than malignant. Most bone cancers are secondary and have been spread from another site. Primary bone cancer that starts in the bone is quite rare, less than one percent of all malignant tumors. They are more common in men, particularly in children and adolescents. The most common type of primary bone cancer is osteosarcoma. This type of carcinoma usually affects young adults. It can affect any bone, but the arms, legs and pelvis are often affected. Other less common forms of primary bone cancer include Ewing’s sarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, and chondrosarcoma. Primary Bone Cancer The cause of primary bone tumors are not known, but adults who have Paget’s disease (a bone disease) may have an increased risk. Secondary bone cancer Secondary bone cancer is the most common bone cancer. It is a cancer that starts somewhere else in the body and spreads (metastasis) to the bone. The most common cancers that spread to the bone in the breast, prostate, lung, kidney and thyroid arise. Reticulum cell sarcoma of the bone A cancer of the bone marrow present in more men than women. Leukemia Cancer of the blood, which begins in the bone marrow Symptoms of cancer-bore Symptoms develop slowly and depend on the nature, location and size of the tumor. The signs and symptoms of bone cancer include: painful bones and joints, swelling of bones and joints, problems with movement, susceptibility to fractures. Less common symptoms include: unexplained weight loss, fatigue, fever and sweating. Remember bone cancer is very rare, so if you have any of these symptoms, it is likely to be caused by other disease. Always seek your doctor if you have for a diagnosis. Causes Although bone cancer is not clear about a defined cause, researchers several factors identified to increase the likelihood of the development of these tumors. A small number of bone cancer through inheritance. Diagnosis Bone cancer can present in any of the bones of the body, but it is usually diagnosed in the long bones of the arms and legs. Diagnose bone cancer involves a series of tests, including: X-rays and bone scans to determine the exact location and size of the cancer (these are always done to show before the biopsy), bone biopsy, where a small sample of cancer from which is removed, bone and examined in the laboratory for the presence of malignant cells, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI scan) uses similar to a CT scan but instead to build three-dimensional X-ray images of magnetism of your body. Treatment The treatment and prognosis of bone cancer, on several factors, including the nature and depend on the extent of the cancer, the patient’s age and general health. Tumors can be treated with surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or a combination of these. Primary bone cancer: The tumor, are surrounding bone tissue and nearby lymph nodes surgically removed. In severe cases, the affected limb must be amputated, but that is rare. The treatment can also kill off the radiation (X-rays to target and the cancer cells) and chemotherapy (anticancer drugs). These can be given before surgery, the cancer and / or afterwards to destroy any remaining cancer cells shrink. Secondary bone cancer: The treatment depends on the treatment of the original tumor, but usually includes chemotherapy, radiotherapy or hormone therapy. Surgery may be necessary to strengthen the affected bone. Forecast Overall, the chance of recovery (prognosis) for bone cancer has improved since the development of modern chemotherapy. The chance of recovery will depend on a variety of influences, if the cancer has spread, the type of bone cancer, tumor size, location, the person’s general health and other individual factors. If the tumor is very small and localized, the five-year survival rate of almost 90 percent. If the cancer has begun to spread, but survival is more difficult. The five-year-survival rate is only about 60 percent, and the prognosis is poor if the cancer is spreading. Bone cancer in dogs and cats Bone cancer in dogs and cats can be challenging disorder. Osteosarcoma is by far the most common bone tumor, if dogs, usually striking the leg bones of larger breeds. Chemotherapy significantly prolonged the survival of animals with osteosarcoma when used in conjunction with surgery. For dogs with cisplatin alone or in combination with doxorubicin markedly improves survival at a median of 8-10 months with the percentage of dogs alive after11 months at 50%. Feline Osteosarcoma unlike its canine counterpart it a much lower rate of metastasis and longer survival has to be expected with complete excision. The median survival for cats with osteosarcoma is approximately 2 years with many cats outreaching.
